AHOY SHIPMATES! Happy New Year from our home to yours. However you and yours celebrated the holidays, we trust you had joyous and happy holiday season.

I want to take the liberty of a few words about the reunion. We are looking forward to seeing many of you in San Diego. Even though the prices may seem high to some, we believe the reunion is worth the cost.    Kay and I take great pride and joy in helping provide an opportunity and a place for old shipmates to meet again, renew friendships and find out what has been happening since we last met. We feel that no matter what the cost, the time spent together will be well worth it. It is somewhat like when we were first married or when we were in the Navy that everything we did was a sacrifice. When an event is something one sacrifices for it means more and the memories linger with you longer. 

Again, we thank you for all the cards, letters, phone calls and stories that you share with us. We receive so much pleasure from our association with the USS Whetstone Association. Your thoughts and kindness mean so much. We send you our love at the beginning of this Year 2000 and wish each and everyone a prosperous, healthy and fruitful New Year!
