Text Box: The First Reunion!
Do you remember the first U.S.S Whetstone reunion?  It was held in Las Vegas September 27-30 1996 at the Imperial Palace just 10 years ago.  According to the pictures in the reunion booklet there were about 70 of us gathered.  Here the Plans were made to start the tradition of reunions every two years.

Text Box: Along with plans for future reunions, other business was the election of organization officers and  an official newsletter.  The reunions have been held every two years, moving from one region of the U.S. to another.  The newsletter has continued, four times a year since December 1996.  The first newsletter editor was Don “Baby Huey” Hulen, assisted by Kay Goble.  Now I, John Worman, have my name on the mast head as editor, and I’m much assisted by Kay Goble (or it may be the other way around).

Text Box: The next Reunion was a mini-reunion in New Orleans  brought together by Don Hulen.

Text Box: In June 1997 there was a mini-reunion for the crew of 1960-1965.  Mostly it was attended by snipes. (13 of us)

Text Box: Biloxi Mississippi
The 1998 reunion was held in Biloxi Mississippi, September 13 - 15.  Attendance grew to 157 and the reunion was squeezed in between two hurricanes.
