Text Box: I’m looking forward to seeing all of you in just four short weeks in Corpus Christi.  It appears we’ll have a great turnout based on the folks who have registered so far.  The hotel is first rate, and right on the water. The weather in Corpus should be terrific in mid-October, and we have lots of exciting activities planned.  You won’t want to miss the USS Lexington, the King Ranch tour, the dinner cruise, the Texas State Aquarium, and much more.  And, of course, the opportunity to swap sea stories with your shipmates again.
So if you haven’t registered yet, get off your duff and send it in.
See you in Corpus.
James C. Dunn, President
   (LT  1967-70)

Text Box: Reunion time is here again and we are anticipating a great turnout in Corpus Christi.  Jim has been working  hard to make a fun time and memorable event for you.  With the vision of Bill Martin in 1996, our Association began.  I have shared his vision since the beginning and have done what I can to keep the memory of the “Stone” alive.  The reunions are a special time to celebrate all that we were! This is the best opportunity to meet up with shipmates from the 40s to the 70s.  The reunions are moved around the country with the sole purpose of giving all a chance to attend and meet with past shipmates.  We have many men that were aboard who live in the Southwest, Texas and Gulf Coast areas.  This may be the only opportunity you have to attend a reunion.  Please join us, if only for a few days.  The hospitality room is open each day during the reunion with ship memorabilia, refreshments and lots of ship stories being shared.  I look forward to seeing each and every one of you and meeting up again with the many friends I have made through the years that have made my life blessed.  Please attend.  You will never regret it.
Marion Goble
(BT, 1963-66)

Text Box: Again, thank you to all shipmates that have sent dues and donations to the Association.  Without your support, it would be impossible to publish "The Rolling Stone", maintain the Website, and have our reunions.  Dues are $25.00 a year, are tax deductible, and are strictly voluntary.  All dues are applied to the year they are received unless designated otherwise.  We recognize that not all are able to support the Association, but we welcome support from whomever is able.  Dues received to date for 2006 are listed below.  An asterisk designates dues paid for additional year(s).  If anyone has paid and your name is not listed, please accept our apology.  Please contact Kay Goble at 6200 Emerald Pines Cir, Ft. Myers, FL 33966, (239)768-1449, or e-mail: sectreas@usswhetstone.net.  Please make checks for dues payable to the USS Whetstone Association.
Please use this list as your receipt.
