Text Box: Johnston Island veterans gathering
for a reunion
Editors note: This article was in our local news paper. As we were part of the operation, I’m including it here. I E-Mailed the people but I indicated that my boilerroom looked the same in the south pacific as it did in San Diego, so I couldn’t add much.
Members of Joint Task Force 8, or JTF8 are seeking veterans for a reunion.
The eight-month operation involved the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy and U.S. Army, as well as civilians from Los Alamos and Sandia Labs, New Mexico, and contractor Holmes and Narver.  Alamogordo is where initial atomic testing was accomplished in 1945, prior to the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Text Box: Contact Harold Davis, who served with the U.S. Army 125th Signal Corps, (505)437-2104, or e-mail Davis1@netmdc.com; or Alamogordo Daily News Staff Writer Michael Shinabery (505) 437-7120 or mshinabery@alamogordonews.com.
Members would like to schedule a first-ever reunion, and begin compiling personal history not written abut anywhere else.
Suggestions are welcomed about where to hold  a reunion, and where to create a repository for members’ history and artifacts.
Family and friends of veterans who are deceased are also encourage to make contact.
