The Association is a non profit, historical and educational organization dedicated to promoting fraternal, civic, patriotic and historical memories of those who served aboard.


	AHOY SHIPMATES! Spring is here and time is moving fast until our reunion in San Diego. I am personally inviting you to try and make the September 2000 reunion in San Diego. We would enjoy your company, and we look forward to renewing friendships. We also would like this to be the largest reunion that the USS Whetstone has had. Jim Dunn, our reunion chairman, has been working hard to get everything set up for an exciting and rewarding three days that will be remembered for the rest of our lives. Some of you I know personally, some I do not, but I would really enjoy meeting you and swapping sea stories. You may say to yourself that you don't remember some of us, and you may not, but soon you will see that all of us are still Whetstone shipmates at heart. It won't take you long until you revive the same feelings that we all share. San Diego is where many of us began our time in the Navy and I am sure that we all had memorable experiences from our tours in that port. We sincerely would enjoy seeing you at the reunion, so have smooth sailing and calm sea's ahead. Marion and Kay
